Everything about the Langham Hotel oozes style and class, so naturally their high tea follows suit. Hosted daily in their Aria Bar and Lounge on the mezzanine floor, this high tea is refined and lavish, fit for any member of high society.

Tables are set with the best crystal wear and custom made ‘Langham Rose’ Wedgewood China. Classic three tiered stands with finger sandwiches, fluffy scones and mini chicken pies are delivered to guests, accompanied by sparkling wine and a selection of specialty teas. The delicate sandwiches come in classic fillings – smoked salmon and cream cheese, cucumber and creamy tuna, all of which were fresh and made with quality ingredients. The classic scones are served with whipped butter and jam, however the condiment plate is a little small and unfortunately there wasn’t enough jam to go around our table.

If visiting on a weekend, the High Tea also includes a decadent chocolate bar, complete with chocolate fountain. The bar includes everything from mini churros in chocolate sauce, to white chocolate pannacotta tubes, to chocolate and caramel tarts. This really is a chocolate lovers dream, however it must be said that it isn’t as extensive as other iconic high teas on offer in town.

So get the ladies together, put on a pretty frock and enjoy afternoon tea with a glass of bubbly on the banks of the Yarra River.
