It’s been a while between posts, because you know, life and stuff happens. Outings have been few and far between (or not worth writing about!), but life seems to be flying by at the moment, I guess that’s what happens when you’ve got a couple of kids and run a business! Needless to say, the husband and I were super excited to be invited to the Spring Menu launch at Souk.

Having always had a soft spot for quality middle eastern cuisine, Souk has been on our to do list since it opened earlier this year. In their own words, they’re reinventing middle eastern food. All of the classic middle eastern flavours are there just with a contemporary spin that starts with a very Melbourne, lane way venue. Walking down Bligh Place, just off Flinders Lane your eyes are immediately drawn to the huge pink neon SOUK sign at the end of the laneway. Walk in and it almost feels like you’ve walked into a cool bar. The lights are low, the fit out it minimal so all of the focus is on a few pieces of striking artwork. The extensive wrap around bar is also a focal point, as are a few unique light fittings that in their own right could pass as pieces of artwork. Continue reading
