Fashion – The Rise of Man Styling

I have to admit, I’ve gone a little crazy overhauling my wardrobe over the last 6 months. I was heavily pregnant this time last year, so I didn’t really give my wardrobe any love. I usually love going shopping, but at that point in time it would depress me. I’d come across these amazing pieces that I absolutely loved but because of my pregnant state I couldn’t try anything on and I didn’t want to risk buying anything just incase my baby weight decided to hang around for longer than planned. Fast forward five months, baby was born, weight was gone and my wardrobe needed to be filled, so I more than made up for it over spring and summer.

But now autumn is rolling around and it’s come to my attention that I haven’t brought anything other than long cardie’s and stretch pants for the last two winters to accommodate my growing and post baby belly and well, to put it bluntly, I hate it all (warning to the salvo’s, I have a hell of a lot of stock coming your way)! Since I don’t want to go near stretch pants, I feel like I’ve been living in the same 3 pairs of jeans for months – you know, because summer decided to skip Melbourne this year, so I spent all of January in jeans, claps for Mother Nature!

Fashion – Autumn/Winter 2015

In my quest to fill my post baby wardrobe I’ve searched high and low for great winter items, but I’m continually drawn towards the amazing dresses that have just been released. So it looks like I’ll be freezing my arse off in the name of fashion (well, I did find a great jacket and blazer, they’ll keep me warm). Here are some of the great pieces I’ve come across.

NGV – Jean Paul Gaultier Exhibition

I love Melbourne, like really love Melbourne. I’ve been lucky enough to travel all over the world and experience some of the worlds most amazing cities, but I always love coming home.

One of my favourite things about Melbourne is that there is always something going on, whether it be sports, a foodie festival or a great exhibition, there is always something to do. I try my best to get out and experience everything this great city has to offer, so this week I finally made my way to NGV to see the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibition and it was just brilliant.

All About Accessories

I have a bit of an accessory addiction, well maybe a huge addiction (meh, same same), but I just love how I can refresh an old outfit by just changing my necklace, earrings, belt or handbag. I load up on new accessories each season and this summer has been no exception. It doesn’t have to be an insanely expensive exercise, I tend to pick up a mix of classic investment pieces and affordable fashion pieces which won’t cost you the world.

Here are some of my favourite pieces at the moment.

Swimsuit Heaven

Summer is upon us ladies (rejoice Melbourne, the sun is out!), so there is no time like the present to look at some of the great swimwear on offer this year. New Work Wardrobe – Dresses

Summer is upon us ladies, so it’s time to freshen up your work wardrobe. I’m going back to work in the new year and given I was pregnant last summer, I haven’t brought any new work gear in a couple of years. I’m right in the swing of updating my work wardrobe, so I thought I’d share some of the great pieces I’ve come across.

This week I’m starting with dresses. I’m a huge, huge fan of a dress in summer, they’re such a quick and easy outfit. They often look great with very little effort – my kind of outfit, especially when I’m rushing around at 7am.

To buy or not to buy that designer investment piece

To buy or not to buy that investment piece? I know this is a dilemma that many women battle with if and when they decide to purchase their first investment piece. Now when I say investment piece I’m referring to that stunning high end designer piece that it worth a small fortune, but if kept in good condition will retain it’s value into the future and in some cases actually increase in value.

Having said that most of us don’t purchase an investment piece for it’s future value, we purchase it for it’s value right now, the value in how it makes us feel. My husband doesn’t get it, but when I put on my Christian Louboutin heels I instantly feel great. I have an added confidence to take on what ever I’m about to do and I have a real sense of accomplishment. So whether it’s a handbag, a pair of shoes, a bangle or a scarf, we make these purchases for the love of fashion and for the love of how they make us feel.
