Pull Out Your Winter Woolies

I love winter, well not so much the cold miserable weather, but I love the idea of cuddling up near the heater or fire, staying warm in a cosy bed, enjoying every manner of comfort food and most of all wearing super comfy winter clothes.

As soon as Autumn hits I start prepping my winter wardrobe, and let me tell you, there are some awesome pieces up for grabs this year. Here are some of my top picks (and a few items that I may have purchased in the last week).

Fashion – Espadrilles

Although it may not feel like it, spring is finally here! Now we just need the sun to come out and grace us with its presence. So in preparation for the warmer times ahead, its time to pack away your boots and replace them with the perfect spring shoe, the espadrille.

I love espadrilles and pretty much live in them all spring and summer. They freshen up any outfit and are so damn comfortable I never want to take them off. So if you’re like me and looking to add a new pair (or two, or three) to your wardrobe, I’ve got you covered with a stack of great options below.

Fashion – Breton Stripe

There are some trends that come and just as quickly go, then there are others that seem to go from trend to classic status. The Breton stripe is definitely one of these long lasting trends. Our obsession with the simple white and navy stripe top seems to go from strength to strength, so much so that I could just about guarantee that most women would own (at least) one of them. Personally, I love this style as much now as I did five years ago and my collection of simple Breton stripe tops seems to grow with each passing season. I’m always drawn to them when I go shopping and I actually have to stop myself from buying more.

Given so many women share this love, I thought I’d put together a quick shop post of some of the great Breton stripe tops currently on offer.

Fashion – Great Ankle Boots

Can you believe that we’re already half way through the year. It amazes me how quickly time passes, but on the upside it means that the coldest part of winter is upon us – NOT!! The only real positive about this time of year is that we get to wear great looking and super comfortable clothes.

Over the last few months I’ve blogged about knits, coats and capes, the only missing link is boots, so here they are ladies, go forth and buy new boots…

Fashion – Capes, Capes and More Capes

Winter 2015 is the season on the Cape. Every where I turn I see super stylish ladies with the most amazing capes draped over their shoulders.  I love the way they add a bit of class and sophistication to the most simple of outfits.

To say I’m jealous of these ladies would be a huge understatement, I absolutely love capes, but I’ve never felt that they suited me, or maybe it’s more that I just haven’t found the right one.

So in my quest to find the perfect Cape, i’ve come across these absolute beauties that I had to share with everyone.

Fashion – Get Out Your Coats

To my absolute dismay, it looks as though the cold weather has well and truly set in (what can you hear? Ye p, that’d be all of Melbourne letting out one big collective sigh). Given I live in this great southern state, it really shouldn’t surprise me that I’m already living in boots and  knits, and although I’ve resisted temptation, it’s time to pull out my winter coat and scarves.

A good coat is such a necessity in Melbourne (especially if you have to brave freezing mornings, standing of a train platform or walking through the CBD to get to work. I definitely don’t miss those days!), so I tend to buy a new one each year, and yes this shopaholic, limits herself to one great piece each year that I just about wear to death. Finding a great looking and fitting coat isn’t an easy task, I can try on what feels like a hundred coats before I decide on one. So if you’re like me and struggle to find that perfect coat, I’ve made it a whole lot easier for you, here are some of the amazing pieces up for grabs this year.

Fashion – Winter Work Wardrobe

Any hope of summer or a nice sunny day in Melbourne is very quickly fading away, so it’s time to embrace the cold weather again. That’s right ladies, pull out your winter coats, boots and scarves, it’s time to keep warm.

I really love this time of year, not because of the terrible weather (i’ll take a hot climate any day, says she who calls Melbourne home), but because winter fashion is all about comfort. I love nothing more than wearing boots, jeans, a cute knit, a bright scarf and a great coat to finish off the look.

However when it comes to winter work wear it can get pretty boring, so I’ve done a bit of late night online shopping and come across these great pieces that I can’t wait to add to my wardrobe.

Fashion – The Rise of Man Styling

I have to admit, I’ve gone a little crazy overhauling my wardrobe over the last 6 months. I was heavily pregnant this time last year, so I didn’t really give my wardrobe any love. I usually love going shopping, but at that point in time it would depress me. I’d come across these amazing pieces that I absolutely loved but because of my pregnant state I couldn’t try anything on and I didn’t want to risk buying anything just incase my baby weight decided to hang around for longer than planned. Fast forward five months, baby was born, weight was gone and my wardrobe needed to be filled, so I more than made up for it over spring and summer.

But now autumn is rolling around and it’s come to my attention that I haven’t brought anything other than long cardie’s and stretch pants for the last two winters to accommodate my growing and post baby belly and well, to put it bluntly, I hate it all (warning to the salvo’s, I have a hell of a lot of stock coming your way)! Since I don’t want to go near stretch pants, I feel like I’ve been living in the same 3 pairs of jeans for months – you know, because summer decided to skip Melbourne this year, so I spent all of January in jeans, claps for Mother Nature!

Fashion – Autumn/Winter 2015

In my quest to fill my post baby wardrobe I’ve searched high and low for great winter items, but I’m continually drawn towards the amazing dresses that have just been released. So it looks like I’ll be freezing my arse off in the name of fashion (well, I did find a great jacket and blazer, they’ll keep me warm). Here are some of the great pieces I’ve come across.
